This includes establishing a system where students are required to complete 22 credits each semester. Bachelor’s degree in three years

He said that various academic qualifications will be awarded, such as UG certificate, UG diploma, and degree programs ranging from three-year bachelor’s degrees to bachelor’s honors and graduate research degrees. The main focus of the course will be on the major (major) subject, while there will also be minor electives, multiple courses and a range of allied subjects available. In addition, students will have the opportunity to earn 4 credits by participating in summer internship courses.

A bachelor’s degree can be earned in three years, four years, or with honors by research and fixed credit. Students undertaking a four-year Honours/Research degree will reduce their postgraduate studies by one year. Starting from 2023-24, changes in credit and course structure will be applicable (except for programs regulated by AICTE, PCI, BCI, COA, NCTE, etc.).

Starting from the academic year 2026-27, fourth year of Hons/Hons (Level-06) with research program will be implemented.

In colleges and universities

Currently, colleges and universities have a rigid subject structure that limits students to a fixed set of electives. However, the new education policy removes these limitations and empowers students to choose from a wide range of subjects of their choice, both from predefined offerings and from a wide range of subjects offered by other universities.

After completing the initial year of study and obtaining the required credit or skill-based certification, students have the ability to find employment according to their individual circumstances. Additionally, at the end of the second year and after receiving the diploma, students may choose to return for further education within a specified time limit.
