Sankat Mochan Yojana 2024: Many schemes have been started by the Gujarat government in the interest of the citizens, among the poor, when a person dies, a great calamity befalls the family. Sankat Mochan Yojana has been started by the government for the benefit of such families. Under this scheme, an assistance of Rs 20,000 is available to the family of a deceased person financially.
Under the scheme, “Sankat Mochan Yojana” has been started by the Gujarat government to provide support in financial calamity where the main person dies in poor families. Assistance is provided to the heirs of deceased persons under Sankat Mochan Yojana to strengthen the poor family financially.

eligibility
- The poor families whose poverty line score is between 0 to 20 are eligible for assistance under this scheme.
- The deceased in the family should be the main earner (male or female).
- In order to get the assistance, the application with Aadhaar proof must be submitted at the office of the Mamlatdarshree within the prescribed time limit.
- Age of the deceased should be above 18 years and below 60 years whether male or female. Assistance is not available in case of death of family relative below 18 years of age.
- The heir has to apply within a period of 2 years after the death of the relative.
Purpose of Sankat Mochan Yojana
Government of Gujarat through Social Security Department runs various schemes with the aim of assisting the economically disadvantaged sections of the country after the death of an incapacitated member of the main breadwinner of the family due to natural or accidental causes of the Social Security Department administered by the Social Security Department and to financially support the family in this sudden calamity or hardship situation. The objective is to provide the benefit of Sankatmochan Yojana or National Family Support Scheme to provide assistance
Amount of assistance
Sankatmochan Yojana which is known as National Family Assistance Scheme in Gujarat provides one time assistance to the family through Documented Benefit Transfer in case of death of the principal conductee who provides assistance of ₹20,000 to the family.
