RTE Gujarat admission 2024-25 highlights as per government resolution.
As per section 2 (n)(iv) of RTE act-2009 applicable to all unaided schools in Gujarat. Which does not include the minority schools declared by the government from time to time.
According to this act, the following children are given free admission in order of priority.
- The age limit of the child should be between 5 to 7 years as on 1st June.
- Orphans, children in need of care and protection will be admitted.
- Child labour, disabled and HIV affected children will be available.
- Children of military/paramilitary/police personnel martyred on duty
- Those who are the only daughter in the family will get admission under RTE.
- Children studying in government anganwadi should be available
- Children from BPL families will get admission.
- Children belonging to SC/ST category will get admission under RTE.
- Children of Socially, Educationally Backward Classes/ Other Backward Classes/ Nomads and Freed Castes
- General Category/ Unreserved Category children will get admission under RTE
How many children of income-capped couples will be admitted? (RTE Admission Income Limit)
Among the above points, the income limit for students has been fixed as per 8, 9, 11, 12 and 13. 1 lakh 20 thousand for rural areas, while 1 lakh 50 thousand for urban areas. This income limit will remain for that academic year. For this, priority is given to students with the highest income.

Choice of school for admission
The following norms have been set by the government for parents and siblings to select their child’s school.
- 1 km radius of neighborhood within walking distance from residence.
- Area up to 3 km if there is no school within 1 km radius.
- If a school is not available even up to 3 km, a school within a radius of 6 km has to be decided.
Parents have to choose ward based schools. One can get admission in the school which is closest to the residence in two wards. Priority criteria have to be considered at the time of school selection.

Important matters under RTE act-2009
- A student admitted in class-1 is provided free education till class-8.
- No discrimination shall be made against the student admitted under this Act.
Provisions for transfer of school.
In the online admission process, school transfer can be obtained in the following cases.
- Get admission to an unsolicited school
- In case of admission to a girl’s school instead of a kumar school and in a kumar school instead of a girl’s school.
- Admitted to a minority school.
- Admission allotted against the rule due to technical reasons.
Aid to admitted student.
- Assistance is provided to the student for purchase of uniform, boots, books, transportation expenses, school bags and other items incidental to studies as per the norms fixed by the Government from time to time.
- The above aid is paid subject to the attendance of the student. That is, 80 percent or more attendance (except for medical reasons) in Class-1 is mandatory for Class-2. While attendance in class-1 will not be considered.
After the admission of the students in the priority order category 8, 9, 11, 12 and 13, the income exceeds the prescribed income limit in the next financial year, the parent has to inform in writing and cancel the admission. Also the name of the admitted father is BPL. In case of cancellation from the category also the entry is subject to cancellation.
Apart from this, if the system finds any admission suspicious, the admission of the student will be canceled at the end of the session while punitive action will be taken against the parent from the level of District Education Officer.
